Gareth is Head of Technology for the NIHR Clinical Research Network and a Chartered Fellow with the BCS and serves as vice-chair for the BCS Health and Care Executive. Gareth is also an assessor for the BCS chartered programme and assessor for the Federation of Informatics Professionals (FED-IP) where he holds Advanced Practitioner status.

Gareth also co-authors published books on technology best-practice and frequently writes thought-leadership articles on digital health for ITNOW, digitalhealth.net, computing.co.uk, Health Business, and other online journals.
