The chief executive of one of the largest tertiary acute NHS trusts in the country is the latest keynote confirmed for Digital Health Summer Schools.

Professor Andy Hardy, CEO of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust will share his views and experiences of leading digital transformation just weeks after the go-live of the trust’s new electronic patient record (EPR).

Hardy, who is also deputy chair for the National Improvement Board and is former president for major finance associations CIPFA and HFMA, said the new EPR would “greatly improve the patient experience” adding it would save staff time on admin and duplicating information on paper, and “improve our ability to share information with other care providers”.

The trust’s chief clinical information officer and CCIO Networks vice chair Dr Penny Kechagioglou is also confirmed as speaker. She will argue that digital is more than an EPR implementation as part of her session exploring how to get value out of EPRs to drive the next disruptive digital tech innovations.

They join a growing list of speakers including:

  • Ming Tang, chief digital and information officer, NHS England
  • Helen Balsdon, national CNIO, NHS England
  • David Walliker, CDIO, Manchester University NHS FT
