Workshop – Designing for integrated care: what works and what has to change?
Integrated care is central to the future direction of the NHS, but while the strategic intent is clear, delivery at system level remains complex. Questions persist not only around how integration works in practice, but also where the real value is created, how it is evidenced, and whether incentives across organisations are aligned to support it.
In this interactive workshop, System C and Optum will facilitate a structured session with NHS leaders to test a small number of core principles underpinning integrated care. Using real-world scenarios, participants will explore what holds up in practice, where approaches break down, and critically, how benefits are realised across the system.
Designed as a peer-led discussion, this workshop creates a safe space to challenge assumptions, share lived experience, and surface practical insights. Participants will leave with a clearer view of what genuinely drives integrated care outcomes – and what needs to change to make it sustainable at scale.
