Turning data into action: Dorset’s journey to a system-wide intelligence platform
Despite major investment in digital technology, many health and care systems still struggle to use data consistently across organisational boundaries. In Dorset, we have taken a primary care-led, co-designed approach to developing a shared data and intelligence platform that brings together information from across the system.
In this workshop, we will share the journey behind that work, including the opportunities, challenges and trade-offs involved in creating a platform that meets the needs of clinicians, operational teams and system leaders. Using the DiiS Analytics Portal and Prevention Hub Neighbourhood Tool as examples, we will explore how shared intelligence is being used to support population health management, prevention and neighbourhood working.
Participants will hear what we learned along the way, reflect on the foundations needed for system-wide intelligence, and discuss how similar approaches could be applied in their own organisations.
