Digital sharing of transfers of care information were mandated in 2016 but even today the system struggles to provide digital exchanges of patient information from the acute sector to general practice. This session examines what the barriers are to successful digital transfers of care information and how to address them.

The last 15 years have been focused in the NHS managing digital projects, programmes, IT services and BI for NHS organisations. He has also had significant experience in the development of provider and commissioner information strategies; development and procurement of Information Technology Services and clinical systems as a supplier or as a commissioner. Lee is responsible for Humber development, delivery and realisation of benefits for Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust’s digital plan. Lee is now leading the Local Health Care Record Exemplar programme for Yorkshire & Humber.

Lorraine joined the PRSB in November 2015. After the first half of her career in corporate banking, Lorraine moved into the NHS 18 years ago, initially as one of the executive team responsible for creating the new health regulator, the Healthcare Commission. There Lorraine was responsible for defining and implementing the information strategy to transform the approach to regulation through the intelligent use of information.
Since then, she has built wide experience of different parts of the NHS, including roles as director of national support at the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement, commercial director in an NHS Mental Health and Community Trust, director of commissioning at Oxfordshire CCG and head of strategy at NHS England (south).
