Tharni Vasavan

Tharni Vasavan is a research scientist and currently works as the Horizon Scanning Senior Health Technologies Lead at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), where she aims to identify disruptive and high impact technologies likely to shape the NHS over the next 5 years. Her background is in women’s health, with a PhD focused on innovative methods for diagnosing and monitoring intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy. She subsequently worked in femtech across product development and scientific research, supporting the translation of women’s health innovation into practice. She previously worked as a laboratory scientist in the maternal and fetal disease group at King’s College London and holds an MSc in Women’s and Reproductive Health from University College London.
