Zephan Trent

Zephan Trent is a strategic leader shaping the future of healthcare across Essex and the wider system. As Executive Lead for Strategy, Transformation and Digital at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT), and Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSEFT), he leads digital services, strategy and transformation across both organisations.

Working at system level, Zephan is focused on bringing services closer together to create a more joined-up, efficient and patient-centred NHS. He is driving innovation and large-scale transformation programmes that support better outcomes for patients, staff and communities.

Zephan is the Senior Responsible Officer for the pioneering Nova Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme – a first-of-its-kind system integrating acute, mental health and community services into a single platform. This work is enabling clinical teams to access patient information in one place, improving safety, coordination and care delivery.

With a background spanning strategy, policy, finance, analytics and transformation, Zephan has led major programmes at both national and local level, including roles within NHS England and NHS Improvement.

Passionate about innovation and improvement, he continues to champion a fairer, more connected NHS for everyone.
