Two national speakers have been confirmed for this year’s Digital Health Summer Schools, 27-28 July at the University of Birmingham.
Dr Melanie Iles, England’s first female national CCIO, is our first confirmed keynote speaker. Delegates will hear Melanie’s views on future clinical leadership priorities to support digital transformation across the health service.
Melanie, recently appointed interim CCIO by NHS England, has held various medical director roles for NHS Improvement and NHS England at regional level, and across an acute trust. She is a paediatrician with over 30 years’ service in the NHS.
Helen Balsdon, deputy CNIO at NHS England, will discuss the next steps for leading a nursing workforce in a digitally enabled environment.
Currently responsible for NHS England’s digital clinical safety strategy and interoperable medicines programme, Helen was previously CNIO/head of nursing at Cambridge University Hospitals.
